I began my online business during the Recession of 2009. My husband and I have been real estate investors for over 20 years and we have seen the cycles in the Real Estate Market before, but this time it was different. A record number of homeowners were beginning to lose their homes. And the banks and lenders were taking homes left and right. Depending on where you live in a judicial or non-judicial state determines whether the lender takes the house back in 35 days or as many as 24+ months. However, it has recently been reported that some lenders have taken up to 48 months to reclaim houses due to foreclosure.

So many families were losing homes that we set up an office to assist families with home counseling services to help them to protect their home investment. We were successful in helping some get loan modifications and save their house. Yet in many cases lenders themselves were going "out of the business" so fast that some families weren't getting a response from the lenders and went into default.
